Our Meetings
A typical meeting involves 3-4 prepared speeches which members present.

We also have an impromptu session called "Table Topics" where members answer a topic and speak for 1-2 minutes on a subject which they have not prepared for.

Each speech and table topic is evaluated by another member of the club who will give you supportive comments on the strong points of a speech and give feedback on how you might improve aspects of the speech.

We encourage guests to come along for one or more meetings to see if they would like to join our club. There is no charge for this at all.

After you join, you present the first speech from the manual - called the icebreaker speech.
The other speeches in the manual cover aspects of speaking technique like organising the speech, using gestures, using voice variation, using words well, using visual aids, inspiring people etc. Each speech in the manual has a set of instructions, and each member uses the material to talk about something they are interested in. The manual gives guidance in preparing each speech. The choice of the topics is yours. People are encouraged to give speeches at a rate which is comfortable for them which ranges from 4-5 a year to perhaps 10+. Most members would aim to complete the manual in 12 - 24 months. Members then specialize in Advanced Speech manuals.
